This was my first documentary job, working as an office production assistant and researcher on the six-hour PBS project that tackled 500 years of African American history. It later won a Peabody Award. I'm very proud of it, particularly since we got to include a number of stories that are near and dear to my heart - especially the life and work of the great Paul Robeson.
